We were delighted to host our third information event of the year in Derby on Thursday 27th September. The purpose of the event was to outline the role that Europe Direct can play in helping to inform communities before, during and after Brexit, the current political state of affairs, and a Q&A with a London-based immigration lawyer focusing on Citizenship, Citizens’ Rights, and the future UK-EU relationship.
We would like to express our gratitude to Chris Desira, from the Immigration Solicitors firm Seraphus, for providing fruitful information regarding the Draft Withdrawal Agreement, the Settlement Scheme and what this means for EU member-state citizens living in the UK (and vice-versa).
Indeed, there is much to be discussed in the coming months; therefore, we hope to return to Derby before the end of the year to hold a participation ‘drop-in’ session at one of the city’s local libraries. Advice providers, workers in the non-profit sector, other employers across Derby and EU nationals themselves are all welcome to come along to our events.
A similar event was delivered in August at Lincoln Central Library, where those who had specific enquiries and individuals who were seeking further information on the role of Europe Direct ‘dropped in’. The format is relatively informal, and does not require you to sign up prior to the event.
Our fourth and final information session of the year is scheduled to be held at a venue in Nottingham. More information regarding this event will be rolled out in due course.
We encourage all those interested to sign up to our newsletter in order to monitor our upcoming events and receive regular ‘Brexit updates’.
Alongside the events that we host, our dedicated team are on hand to answer any queries throughout the week via our telephone line and the Europe Direct email. If you know of advice providers or European Nationals who have concerns about Brexit and their future rights, please don’t hesitate to signpost them to Europe Direct East Midlands North!
