On Tuesday 23rd October, Europe Direct East Midlands North were delighted to attend Beeston West’s Community Action Team Meeting at the Old Council Chamber in the Town Hall.
As part of the meeting, there was a ‘Beeston’s Brexit’ discussion. Europe Direct Project Manager Neil Clurow delivered a presentation on Brexit updates, followed by a reflection of potential issues which may arise for the local area. Complementing the presentation was an intriguing Q&A discussion; a number of issues circulated, including booking holidays after Brexit, the impacts on the NHS (more specifically Nottingham’s QMC Hospital) and information sharing for security purposes between the UK and the EU after Brexit.
Hearing from local residents was a great opportunity to share experiences and help improve the delivery of our service for the future.
