It is now looking increasingly likely that the UK will take part in the European Elections and therefore important that all UK citizens are registered to vote. The deadline for voter registration is 7th May 2019. This is the biggest democratic exercise in Europe. It is important that you take part and have your say in who represents the UK in the European Parliament. The directly elected Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) form a fundamental element of the democratic legitimacy of the European Union.
The elections are due to take place on Thursday 23rd May 2019. We at Europe Direct East Midlands (North) are encouraging all eligible voters to take part. Please remember that if you are unable to attend a a polling station on the day you can apply for a postal vote. You can download the postal vote application form from the link. Forms are also available from you local council office.
Remember you can also vote by proxy. The Electoral Commission provides additional information on ways to vote including voting by proxy.
